I was interested to know how much Dodgers installed on your hunter 30 are running. I checked with Sailnet on their Dodger that you put on yourself, it ran $1300. I felt that was a pretty good price. Any help appreciated. (Baby on the way and need sun protection!!!) Dave

Actually, they're slightly less here

And with the new supplier we have I'd bet it's a better product, too. See link below.

Listen to Phil

if you want a dodger premade. If you have any DIY blood in your veins, try Sailrite. They offer a kit that is about 1/3. A local sailmaker or canvas shop would be the next stop. The HOW Chandlery offers a great bargain on a aesthetically pleasing dodger. Generally, a dodger will cost anywhere from $400 to $3000 depending on the bells and whistles you want to add.

I paid almost $4,000 for a custom made dodger, and all new sail covers (3) in San Diego about three years ago. A good job, but definitely pricey... Make sure an off-the-shelf model will work with your traveler.... S.

Local Canvas Shop

Dave, Jenn. My admiral's a redhead, goes from pale white to burnt red in an hour. So when we purchased Penguin (Now Weyrling) our first project was dodger, bimini, connector, and sail cover. I found a local canvas guy, Jim Funk at Canvas Works in Mystic Connecticut, Who did a fantastic job. He built us a custom setup, suggested features, and incorporated things we wanted. The dodger ran about $1000 complete. Note the hand rails, very secure for moving forward.
