I am interested in trying to install a dodger on my Hunter 27. It seems like it is nearly impossible with the way the boom is rigged. Has anyone added one, if so did you change the rigging? Any info would be appreciated.

Check the 4sale 27's on this forum as one has

a dodger with full bimini. You can move the main sheet rigging forward by installing a traveller over the companionway. ($$$) With the short boom of the 27' Cherubini any other installation would deeply infringe on the cockpit space; even with the tiller version.

Mount it on the stern pulpit

We bought the model offered on this site, and mounted it on the forward bend of the stern pulpit. That way we keep the preferred rigging of the mainsheet to the aft end of the boom and cockpit. If we moved the travelor forward, we would have to duck to step under the Bimini. On the stern pulpit, we get good shade if the sun is abaft the beam. If it is farther forward, the sails give us some shade. The service and quality from the canvas shop here has been great. David Lady Lillie
