I recently purchased a 350 and I am interested in installing side grab bars of Stainless Steel which can be afixed to the Dodger frame. The Catalina brochure shows the boat with this dodger but catalina did not have any info on how to get these ready made bars. Does anyone know of a manufacturer who markets them or who can make them up or where I can get them? Ron Laufer

Dodger Hand Holds

For what it's worth, my dodger has cut outs to allow you to use the dodger frame as a hand hold at each side and the center. They are very convenient and well used.

Easily Done (I think)

The independent cat who built my dodger included very handy grab bars port and starboard. As someone else mentioned, the dodger has appropriate cut outs (more accurately, some corners lopped off) which are chaffe protected with leather - where the handhold bar penetrates the dodger and attaches to the frame. The attachment is done using hardware similar to that shown in the link to the WM catalog below. The staineless bar is bent to form the handrail and fit into the attach hardware. As I said, easy - provided you have the tools to bend the SS tube - which any dodger vendor should have. I can probably take a few pictures this weekend if that would help. Good Old Boat has a great instructional article a few issues back on this very topic. Stu
