I want to put a dodger on my H2. In order to follow the coaming I need to move the mainsheet forward. Has anyone done this. Will I have any problems securing the hardware-cut an inspection port in the headliner and backplate it. I would appreciate any feedback

Oz: Lookup the Harken site. You can pose this question to one of their engineers. They will tell you if it can be done and exactly what hardware you will need. I do not think that you need to cut any hole in the headliner. If it can be done you just drill holes larger than the bolts and fill with epoxy. Then you re-drill the holes to the correct size. You will need a backing plate or large washers.

27 dogger

when I had a 27 hunter I installed a main sheet travler just forward of the hatch . the holes were drilled through the cabin top backed with teak wood and s.s.washers for support, also moved the bail forward on the boom. then installed a dogger, worked great this was two boats ago hope it workes for you ,ken.

moving fwd and out

I built a partial hard dodger w/ removable lexan windows, I first moved the spring loaded blocks foward and outward between the sea spray hood and the teak grab rail, approx. 12" fwd of caoming. what You'll need is 8 #10 panhd. fasteners 4" long, and 2 5" dia. stainless steel disc's 1/8" thk or 1'4" thk aluminium plates for inside the cabin, I would add a 4 to 1 boomvang which helps getting closer to the wind for better sailing and eases the load put on the cabin top.
