I'll be sailing down from Long Island past Manhattan via the East River. I'm planning on picking up a passenger from Manhattan but I can't seem to find any marinas along the way. There is one called the NY Skyports Marina that seems to be closed to ferries or super yachts. While a fueling station would be nice, I'm really just looking for any pier or wharf where I pull alongside and have the guest jump aboard! My only other alternative is to swing around the tip and go to the North Cove Marina on the Hudson River side. I thought there might be a spot near the South Street Seaport but it looks like a restricted area these days.

Be aware that North Cove Marina has a Touch and Go rate of $2 per foot for 15 minutes for pick up and drop offs. Don't really know if they enforce collection or not but it is posted. Accross the Hudson from it at Liberty there is a fueling station along the canal in calm waters.

Wow-- $60 for my friend to jump in the boat. There's a racket for you!
Thanks for the info.

Just a little north of North Cove is a new mooring field which is operated by Liberty Landing. There is a new, fairly long dock there where I bet you could pick up your crew for free. It is an easy walk from the Chambers St. subway stop (#1,2 & 3 trains).

I found them on Active Captain with a note that corresponds with your comment about the free pick up. That seems to the best option for me right now.
