Dock lines for H31

I'm planning to buy a second set of dock lines today. Does the H31 use 1/2" or 5/8"?

i am using 1/2..3 strand for what its worth on my 30 ft 10,000 lb boat

Use the biggest that will fit and be comfortable for you to handle.

1/2" of good quality line made as a dock line should be good. Make sure you also consider the cleat sizing of the dock.

Depends on the conditions in your marina: sheltered with little wave action, or more open with wave action. The 1/2 inch (nylon to allow some stretch) should be plenty adequate particularly if you live close so you can add additional lines if heavy weather is coming in.

Read the rope specs. You'll be surprised to find out what 3/8" braided dock line holds. The more important issue is that of the stretch.

BTW -- according to the numbers, my 3/8" double-braid low-stretch halyards will EACH lift the whole boat's weight.
