Do you leave your H260 in a slip all year?

Our club is about to have lots of new slips available. We have no trouble launching and retrieving our H260 but dang the water is cold during the winter. A recent topic included discussion on the potential for the water ballast freezing during the wintertime since the hull is cored and the lake water can't help keep the water ballast from freezing. We're at Lake Murray in South Carolina where we can get some deep freezes. The owners manual warns against leaving water in the ballast tank during a freeze. It clearly states the boat should be on a trailer with the tank empty. Do any of you who experience similar temperatures leave your boat in the water over the winter? Have you had any issues?

Dangit. I just reread the page in the manual about winterizing the ballast tank. Dang! It's more clear than I remembered. Yes, I do know how to read and comprehend what it says. I'm asking for actual experience with anyone who has left their H260 or H26 in the water during the winters where freezing is a common occurrence.

Thanks!

Kermit;

YOU DO NOT HAVE A THING TO WORRY ABOUT IN SOUTH CAROLINA. HECK, I HAD BOATS STAY IN YEAR ROUND AT SMITH MOUNTIAN LAKE, VA WHICH YOU HAVE TAKEN YOUR BOAT TO!

Generally, WVA and MD northward is the line where boats like yours would be pulled as waters freeze there

P.S. I know I could have called and asked. I figured others might benefit from the question and then the answer from the Great One. :-D

dagon it Kermit. Still thinking of leaving on the trailer. Leave it in the water and avoid that launch and retrievel every time you want to sail.
