Do the 1989 340 and 34 Hunter have only AC shore power heaters for hot water or do they have diesel engine heated hot water.

George: Normally they have both. 110VAC and engine heated how water. No telling on a used boat what someone may have done.
The 340 didn't begin production until 1998, and they were equipped with 110/engine ex. hot water heaters from the factory.
Can't say what they did with the 34's in the late 80's. But, like Steve said, no telling what any of the PO's did before it got to you.

H34 Water Heaters...
The owner's manual for my '83 H34 states in the Operation of the Water System section that "The water heater operates on either on 120 volts AC or when the engine is running."
From that I would deduce that the 1983 through 1987 H34 production series came with a dual heated water heater.
