DMI Depth and Knot Meter

Need some advice trouble shooting a depth/knot meters.

DMI 4" round model. I bewlieve their original, 1984. I get wildly fluctuating readings from what is close to accurate 7'-18' (Long Island Great South Bay, so you can see this is critical to me!!) all the way to 175'!!

Same with the knot mete, not as critical.

Any suggestions

Sounds like the instrument itself needs work. I would pull it and send it in to DMI for bench testing and repair. You can pull the guts out and still leave the bezel in your boat for water tightness.
