A friend suggested I post the info and pics on my boat speakers. I didn't want to cut holes in my bulkheads so I came up with a nifty surface mount made from PVC drain fittings. If I chance my mind, I only have a few screw holes to hide. I can also spray paint if I decide. $6ea!
1) Find a drain union made to connect a 6" cast drain to a PVC drain. Perfect fit!
2) Cut 1" off the large end and then the entire narrow end.
3) Cut the large end scrap piece so it expands, sand and cement it flush with the cut large end. The cemented cut piece allows for a surface to drill holes to mount the speaker
4) Drill 3 or 4 holes on the inside rear flange to mount speaker on boat surface
5) Cut/drill additional plastic to fit wires as needed.
