Does anyone know of a DIY boatyard in Connecticut? I just bought a boat that needs a bit of work and would like to do it myself. I'm new to the area and didn't think it would be so difficult finding a place. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong locations.

The boat is currently in Milford, Ct.

Goodsell Point Marina in Branford. You are required to do it yourself, as the marina really provides no services other than haulout, launch and storage. Electric and water hookups on the hard (but bring a loooong extension cord because you never know which plugs will work). Unlike many marinas, you are also allowed to have contractors come in to do work. I once found a guy to compound and wax my boat; he came in to do my work, and wound up doing like 10 others too. Nice owners, although the rumors that they are going to sell out to the Brewer's chain come out every year. Reasonable rates too: my slip (April to Nov., including haul and launch) is $1800; that does not include winter storage or mast take down. And my slip does not have dockside power, although it does include water. I think there are slips with power available, although I don't need it.
