I have an O'Day 22 and an O'Day 192 that I let a friend use. After trailering the 192 to a new mooring, my friend neglected to tape the turnbuckels, and well, the rest was inevitable. When the mast went down the only thing that was damaged was the 'attachment to the deck.' I've always thought that this was called the tabernacle, but now that I'm looking for one, i can't find anything under that name. Any ideas what this is called, and where I can get one? thanks Bob

You are right

Bob, sorry to hear about the dismasting - I experienced a similar "event". The plate on the deck and on the bottom of the mast is the "tabernacle" I think it is also called a Deck Plate - I suggest you contact Rudy at D&R Marine 508 644-3001 - Check out the web site http://www.drmarine.com/index.asp and see if you can find the part. Rudy is busy but keep trying - you are not too far from his "shop/shed" so perhaps give him a call and drop by Good luck James
