Dismantling the P & S galley

We would like to take apart the galley to install an icebox. And
generally clean & paint. Are there special instructions? I suppose
we cannot take out the engine box. It seems to support the cockpit
floor.

"Tarka the Otter" V 1639 has a new owner. For those of you who can
remember, Nick & Jenny Coghlan put Tarka in storage for 7 years. We
are refitting her and hoping to head to the Caribbean next winter.

Hi Alan

The Vega is an easy boat to work on and most of the woodwork can be unscrewed,
I know as when I bought Southern Comfort she was a bare hull with all the
woodwork in a pile in the middle of the main cabin!

Good luckSteve Birch

I did this at one time many years ago "and the memory ain't what it used ta
be sonny" but let me take a shot at it.

1. remove trim on cabinet above sink. screws are under trim piece which is
fitted over end
2. remove sliding door and grooved wood
3. more screws in sail locker and you have to climb into there. not for the
fat or claustrophobic
4. remove hose on sink
5. lift off counter

As I said this was many years ago, I may have forgotten something
