Any known problems allowing a fuel line to come to within 1 foot of a primary Racor filter and then dip down 18 inches before coming up to go into the Racor body? In the attached picture the fuel line approaches from the lower left of the picture then drops down only to come up and enter a 90 degree elbow entering the Racor.

Could use some hangers to tidy things up and make the lines secure. To answer the question fuel being sucked into the engine prior to the pump may have problems if the line gets an air bubble in it and that gets sucked into the pump. also makes bleeding the lines more difficult. As a general rule you want the line to descend from the tank to the filter and then descend to the pump to make changing the filter easier and prevent air bubbles from entering the pump and causing air lock. If you have to have a high spot make it the filter so all the bubbles end up there and not in the lines.

assuming the picture is taken looking down it should work My understanding; as stated above the filter should be the high point to facilitate bleeding.

Looks like a Volvo. Mine is mounted in about the same spot, but my line goes around the back of the engine towards the tank. It's angled down towards the tank with no loops or dips.
