Dink Storage

I was looking for ideas on dink storage. I intend to use mine regularly and would like to store it ready to use, a floating dock would be nice. The inflatable is 9' 4" and my boat is really too small for davits at 27'. I see lots of styrofoam and treated pine "floats" covered with carpet but they break down and look bad in a short time then require alot of labor to dispose of. Any thoughts on PVC pipe floats?6" capped outer floats and "reducer T's with a saddle that keeps the dink out of the water. When the time comes short work wth a hand saw would cut the unit up into small parts for disposal.

It sounds like you want to store the dinghy "off" the boat. Have you considered the various brackets that allow you to store the dinghy on it's side on the transom. There are two that I know about - one is a "clip" and the other is a semi-circle bracket that holds the inflatable tube.

Tom; Go to Target or any store like it and buy four or six of those large plastic storage tubs. Attach the lids to a four by eight piece of plywood with machine screws through bolted. Place the tubs into the lids with a good bead of sealant. Put a few coats of water sealer on the wood first. Liquid nail some indoor/outdoor carpet on top. This'll hold your dink out of the water for years with very little or no maintenance.
