I am exploring various methods to bring my dinghy along as I cruise. I came across a product called "Dinghy Tow" made by Davron Marine. I would like opinions or feedback on this product ,hopefully from someone with a boat that has a walk-through transom. I worry that it will decrease too much the usefullness of such a transom. www.dinghy-tow.com

Consider davits

I finally installed davits from Ocean Marine Systems on my 380. Great investment. Dinghy travels out of the water with the engine on the dinghy transom in all but the worst conditions. Easy launch, easy haul-out. Great factory support from Ocean Marine. I'll never go back to towing.

dingy bow on tansom has problems

I have towed my dingy w/ it's bow on the transom (Hunter 420)...that works but has a problem. During a long tow, the bow works/rubs back forth on the transom and wears a spot on the dingy...for a short tow it's ok.

Good point tadd

I pull the bow of my dink up on one of those square cockpit cushions to save any chafe or marks. In my book less is better. If I didn't have a walk-thru transom it would be a different story but as it is it's just so much easier and no need for any extra gear.
