A new modification to hoist, for hoisting the newly revised dinghy which now wieghs 273 lbs.

I just made this new 6:1 block and tackle from Lewmar parts....50mm triple becket cam on top and 50mm block below. Ordered from Defender and took a long time getting here due to bad weather...in the east.

I did like the cross reference, especially this part "Block - A wooden, metal or plastic case in which one or more sheaves (pulleys) are placed, through which turns of line (falls) are threaded for the purpose of gaining mechanical advantage or changing the direction of motion. Lines used with a block are known as tackle."

What I was asking about was if I could take the "block" apart on the port side of my traveler and add another "sheave (pulley)" so I had somewhere to run the line from the starboard side to the port side and then run it to a cam-cleat on the port side. Don't know that guy but from other posts he sounds like one of those posers who stands around before a race at the captains meeting talking nautical and then gets his clock cleaned on the water.

Seems to be going around this winter. I have to give TimR credit for not getting too ticked about the comment about voltage drop over his wind turbine.

Sorry about the crappy weather we are having here is the east that delayed your stuff. I'll try and put out a little more hot air our here.
