There are a hundred ways to Sunday to lash the dinghy so it won't swing on the davits. just keep it covered and pull the drain plug so it doesn't fill with water from spray, rain, or a rouge wave.
With most owners the question is what type of davits to buy and where to install them. Since you already have them then that is no question for you. The convenience is undeniable, but as with anything there are trade-offs. Permanently mounted davits can hinder other functions in the area you install them, that's all up to the design of your vessel, where you install them, etc. I personally prefer a single stainless folding lift (Garhauer); only rated for 150 pounds, but the motor comes off first and then the zodiac is less than 80 pounds and is deflated for stowage, then the lift stows in a compact area. I have a small boat and only use a small Zodiac.
