I recently purchased a 1975 Catalina 22. She has a ding about five feet up the mast. I am not sure how this ding affects the integrety of my mast? It is about two inches long and at its deepest point, maybe 1/8 of an inch deep. There is no other visible damage besides the ding. I would guess that I will probably need to have someone actually look at it, but I am just trying to get an idea if a mast needs to be totally ding free to be "safe", or if some minors dings here and there are okay. I guess I do not even know the relativity of "minor" when it comes to dings on masts. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Brian
