I would like to make a smaller table for my dinette style Catalina 30 my question is can anybody point me towards a source for the base that holds the aluminum pole to the table. I still want to keep my dinette table for cruising. But would like a small table for around the dock, and day trips
Thank you in advance

Thank you thank you woodster and Stu Jackson for your replies

Woodster I googled Springfield table supports but did not find anything that would work for me. My poll diameter is 3½" so I will be doing more searches to see if I can find one.

Stu Jackson I appreciate you posting the link for me, I wish it was that easy. My intentions are to interchange the tables at will. So I can use either one whenever I want too. Stowing the small table most of the time, and just use it during cocktail hour or casual seating. We do cook and eat on board when were not eating outside the large table works quite well. But there are times when it would be easier to use the seating in the dinette area with a smaller table. I may look into having a custom base made, my buddy down the street can weld anything aluminum, stainless steel, he is a welder by trade doing aerospace welding. So a trip to the metal supply house might be in order for me to see what material I can find that will work. I was hoping that these were still made and someone might know where to get one, I'll keep searching but I'm also going to entertain the thought of making my own. Since I'm going to have to fabricate a bracket for my winless in my locker anchor I might as well kill 2 birds with one stone. Thanks again for the link interesting read.

I have exactly the same need

I also need one of these bases. I have the 3 1/2" aluminum tube but the base under the table has cracked.

This is pretty sturdy chunk of aluminum with a lockdown screw. I am thinking about just replacing it with a more modern unit, but that's pretty pricey....

I think you and I have the same situation where the bases the same top and bottom with the thumbscrew for lack of better word to call it tightens down on the 3 and a half inch aluminum tube that is notched so the table doesn't swivel around.

I'm going to look for some aluminum tubing that is 3 and a half inches inside diameter and just weld a base to that. I want to put in a 18 to 20 inch round table for convenience of sitting in a dinette area. But most of the time will be using the dinette standard table. There's also the possibility of taking some aluminum stock and bending round and welding into a base. I don't really care about locking it in one position being that is going to be a roundtable. I am also working on a fabrication for my windless, the fabrication ideas are still in my head but when I go to the metal supplier I am going to be looking for different pieces of aluminum that I can fabricate for the windlass. Once it has been fabricated I know it has to be anodized or it won't last more than a few years.
