Can anyone suggest ways of preventing diesel odours from the fuel intake pipe between filler and tank. I think the odour is permeating through the material of the old pipe. What type of tubing do I need to remedy this problem and will I need special fittings for the job. I will be most grateful for any information thanks Geoff Mercer Pwllheli

My fuel line was replaced several years ago but i still have a diesel smell at times. My latest theory is that because the vent line is on the side of the tank that when the tank is full then obviously the vent line will be full as well which would essentially trap vapors in the tank and hoses. i find when the tank is less than full the smell is not as bad. i can be reached at gm18sail2@aol.com for any questions. other than the smell, what a great boat !

Geoff, when you take on fuel, don't overfill the tank so much the fuel rises up and stays in the filler hose. Know how much your tank holds and how much you can put in, keeping the fuel in the tank. The smell will go away and won't come back.
