diesel on catalinas

i own a hunter but i have a friend looking at catalina 30's. The specs on this site say these boats have gas engines, but i thought for sure that there was a diesel model. Does anyone know the right answer here?

I'm pretty sure they use a diesel now. I think the older ones have an Atomic 4 gas engine. Regards, Chris

Deisels on C-30

From around the early mid-eighties they switched to the Universal 25 diesel. Hope that helps.

C-30 Diesel

The diesel in the C30 was a factory option as early as 1978. One can find either Atomic 4's (gas) or the Universal 5411 (diesel) on the late '70's/early 80's boats (my '82 C30 came from the factory with an installed diesel).
