Better yet, Seloc/Chilton manual
Better yet Todd, do yourself a BIG favor and order up the new Seloc manual for Yanmar QM, GM/HM, 4JH, and 4JH2 series, 1975 - 98. (Sorry Steve) I got mine in from Amazon.com on Friday and I'm very pleased with it. I have a lot of shop manuals including the Yanmar factory book and this is among the very best. It is written with the owner-mechanic firmly in mind, as opposed to the factory book which is written for the trained professional mechanic. Lots of explanations, theory and general advice and a large number of helpful charts. The photographs and printing are well above average. My copy is already well thumb printed from referring to it as I bench ran my newly acquired 3GM30F this weekend. Two people are acknowleged for providing assistance and information: Larry Berlin and Steve McGovern of Engine City Tech and Mack Boring. There is no person in the civilized world who knows more about Yanmars than Larry, and Steve was one of the major culprits responsable for getting Yanmars into Hunters. You could find much worse ways to spend $27.00 amd $4.00 shipping.
