Dimensions are critical. I tried to put a diesel tank from a Series II into Lyric, a Series I. It wouldn't fit. The bilge was wider and the well was deeper on the Series II. The tank sat on top of a removable fiberglass box. I can reach down a touch the bottom of the well on Lyric. I could not reach the bottom of the well on the Series II. i posted (emailed to the group) a method to do this. If you go to the albin vega group page, you can search past email posts... years and years of them. watch out for the tank opening, which wants to get caught on/under the opening on the floor as tank comes outSent from my iPhone
I agree, I removed the fuel tank from the bilge while my boat was in the water and it seemed impossible. I wasen't planning on reusing it, so I sliced it to collapse it a little. In my case I relocated a new fuel tank to the port cockpit locker, but the original design has much to merit it except for convenience when working with hose connections.
