This one:
I left R. E. Mayo well after the sun was up and ran under power just down to the Neuse River where I set the sails. Great ride. I was going faster most of the time than I can run under power and up to a knot faster for minutes at a time. It would have been a cold, hard, beat going the other way but that 6 - 7 knots subtracted from the wind speed helped a lot with the wind chill.
I rolled up the jib and furled the main at the marker off the entrance to Adams Creek and then unrolled the jib and sailed under it alone well up the creek to the beginning of the land cut. Four and a half hours of great sailing.
A nice run down to my usual anchorage just above Beaufort. It's tempting to spend a day here but it looks like I have a shot to get clear to Georgetown, SC before the weather changes so I'm going to go for it. I plan to have the engine work I didn't do in Solomons done there by the marina that is a Yanmar dealer so will spend some time there.
Back to being a powerboater tomorrow morning.
