Did voltage relay module kill start battery?

On my H-50 I left the batteries connected during offseason (Caribbean summer) but limited solar charging to 13.8v absorption and float to avoid over charging my 4 x 225 Mastervolt AGM house. It appears to have worked well but my AGM start battery is dead (2v). A VSR (voltage sensitive relay) connects the house to the starter battery. It cuts in at 13.7 v and out at 12.8. So it should have been topping up the start battery during the summer. Is there any way this VSR could have been draining the start battery? Is there another explanation for th 2 year old 940 amp start battery being dead? I am not aware of a possible load on it.
