What is the exact depth of the depth transducer on a Hunter 41DS?

I have estimated two feet on our boat, with another four feet to the bottom of the keel. Ours is a different model than yours, which has a bulb wing keel. Our depth offset is five feet, and from experience is pretty close. When my depth meter reads 0.3 feet I can feel the keel starting to tug at the mud. Hope this helps.

Thanks. The book says our keel depth is 5 ft. so I guess our depth offset would be 3 feet. Maybe I need to make it 4 feet to play safe.

I have found that if you note the depth when you feel the drag of plowing the bottom, you have a good approximation for the offset. When I see 3' on the depth sounder, I know I am inches from plowing and too close for comfort.

JV the transducer on the 41DS is 18" below the water line. I do not use an offset on my depth reading. I just know that when I see 5' on my readings that I have 18" to spare. In SW Florida 5' is deep water.... LOL
