depth sounder glitch

My sounder works well for short periods then displays a horizontal line periodically for no apparent reason. The hull is clean .The transducer is epoxied in place inside the hull. What mi9ght be the problem? Should I replace it with a thru hull type transducer? HELP!!!!! DJ

Sounds like the xducer

It could be a connection but it sounds like the transducer is going out. West Marine will allow you to return a transducer if that doesn't turn out to be the problem - but be sure to test it in the water first before installing it. And also make sure the 'ducer is the same frequency as the unit itself.LaDonna
