My C22 has a Standard Horizon depth sounder with an in-hull hockey puck style transducer. The readings are presented for a few seconds then the display goes to a -- display.I am going to check the hull bottom for growths, etc. and clean it up if necessary. If this doesn't work, I am going to change the location of the transducer which is now approx. 18" in front of the keel on the center line of my boat.QUESTION.......To those of you whose sounder works flawlessly-Where exactly is yours located?(soon going to the thin waters of the Chesapeake) HELP!!!!!!! I just installed one yesterday

DJ: I just installed one yesterday. My Catalina is a 1980, and I don't remember how new yours is. Anyhow, I put the puck to mine on the forward side of the wall beside the head area. I put it in the center and only about an inch forward of the wall, (so it's pretty much back as far as possible. I used some toilet flange wax, as had been recommended previously on this forum, and pressed it down against the inside of the hull. My son and I tested it for about an hour or 2 and so far it has worked perfectly, but there wasn't any wind so we only had a few wakes to check it with. Did you ever check out Maryland Marina? We put our boat in there last weekend, and they have fixed and extended both of their ramps. Aldo

Try this first

You can reset the processor the following way - with power off hold down the up arrow and the down arrow, keep holding them down and turn on the power (assuming arms long enough). My ST-150 did that the other day whlie I was entering shallow water. This cured mine - power on off doesn't reset certain functions.
