Hi All,

My fuel gauge doesn't work so I look at the fuel level at the front of the tank as my "gauge". I assume the tank is a fairly even depth all the way to the back to this is a reasonable approximation - at least until the tank level gets pretty low.

Does anyone know roughy how the tank is shaped? Is it a fairly even depth all the way front to back?

Thanks,
Andy

it doesn't matter. What you NEED to know is what your fuel consumption is. Do a search on that phrase and read all about it. Most boats of your size range from 0.5 to 1.0 gph.

We do monitor gph between fuel top-ups. But I still want to know the level in the tank.

There is a link, to find the shop drawings for your Hunter Fuel tank. I forget where, sorry.

Based on Jim’s diagram, you should be able to remove the mattress, open the bed deck to look inside the bed frame with a flashlight and get an idea. Looks rectangular. There are no unusual structures in that area of the build, so odds are the depth you see is probably the depth of the tank. Maybe 20-40 gallons (what ever is stated on the boat specs.)

unless Hunter made fairly major changes between 04 and 08, it's rectangular. There are a number of external sensors available that are far better than the original and very easy to install.
