Depth Guages

I have a Hunter 26, 1995, and want to install a depth guage. I bought a Uniden guage with an inside the hull transducer. Will this work with the water ballast hull? If someone has a similar boat I would appreciate your input. Thanks! Steve

Aft of the ballast tank

I glued my fishfinder transducer to the hull just forward of the bilge pump. This is aft of the ballast tank, and it works pretty good. Of course, you will probably hit the bottom before your depth finder sees it.Mike PajewskiH26 "Loon"

For What Its Worth

For what its worth, I had a Uniden inside the hull depth guage that I had bought for installation on my prior boat. When I bought my "new" 97 h26 I asked the dealer about installing it and he recommended against it for a number of reasons including thickness of hull, location issues, etc.Anyway, I ended up having a through-hull guage put in and am quite happy with it. (The Uniden is still in the box and awaits our next garage sale.)
