I am intersted in finding out about through the hulldepth finders for a 1986 222. I have been told that the hockey puck type will not work with a core type hull. Does the 222 have a core type hull. If so what are my options-- I do not want to put a hole in the hull unless absolutely necessary. Any suggestions?

Use a Humming bird fishfinder

I used a hummingbird fishfinder with the sensor mounted forward with epoxy. The display is mounted inside the cabin above the sink and is quite visable from the cockpit. It has a minimum depth reading of 2ft and is quite accurate. Its been in use for three years with great success and only costs $100.
