Delamination repair
Our 002-550 Fiberglass Boat Repair & Maintenance manual covers this type of repair in detail. I would caution against using a penetrating epoxy because these types of products are simply solvented systems and as such they have downsides you should be aware of. Of importance to you for your repair is that solvented epoxies have greatly compromised physical properties relative to a structural epoxy system like WEST SYSTEM. In paticular, compression strength, tensile strength, and moisture exclusion are only a fraction of a full strength epoxy, and these properties are of primary importance to this repair. You can reduce the viscosity of our epoxy by warming the resin and hardener in their separate cans then mixing them warmed and injecting it into the drilled holes. Keep in mind that warming the epoxy will shorten the working time and pot life, so it's better to mix more smaller batches than fewer larger batches.
