My hatch on my 25.5 Hunter has detached from the plexiglass lens. What is a good replacement lens brand and what size do I need? I think the size is 16 7/8" but I'm not sure. Any advice on installation would be appreciated.
That is -- measure the whole that was cut in the deck to accept the hatch. Then check the discounters -- check the catalogs and call because they don't list everything on their web sites. Has the lens cracked or is the hatch coming apart. If you just need to replace the lens, go with Lexan. This is what they make bullet-proof windows out of for convienence stores. If you need to replace the hatch, then the real question is how much do you want to pay? Cast aluminum is expensive. Extruded aluminum is less expensive.
I had the same thing happen on my 25.5. If the lens is intact try to re-install the lens using 3M 5200. I did this with mine two years ago, no leaks yet. Make sure you mask off the lens because you will not be able to remove the 5200 once it sets up. Bob Wingard' sv Fair Lady
