We just got our 1986 Hunter 31 ALURE bottom's cleaned for the season. We dawdled and did not make a reservation until most yards were booked. We settled on a place, Cobbs Marina and had a very, very pleasant three hour mid-March 70 degree sail day down and back yesterday. Price was reasonable for our part of Chesapeake Bay:$5.00 per foot to haul, pressure wash and put back in the water. Imagine our dismay when I casually asked the tender, as the boat was being lowered back into the water, if he had 'done' the area under the straps? He said, "No, that would be an extra charge for blocking your boat ($3 per foot)". "Nope, please do what we paid you to do: wash the whole bottom." They did, at no extra charge. They raised one end suspended then the other to move the straps 18 inches. But I am not pleased. I have never had this issue before: was everybody else We had eve been to just being nice? ... or did these folks try to pull a fast one? Should it have been $10 less per short haul, as they did not wash about two feet of boat? Joe
