Good morning all-

I have a 1995 H26. The VHF wire from the mast base to the radio is deteriorating at the deck and needs replacing. My marine electrician would like to know how it is led. The first question is does the wire go through the post or between the post and the light just aft of the post? I think I remember reading that there is a conduit. If so, what is the path? Is it starboard of the hatch opening? The radio is mounted from the liner, starboard, at the opening of the aft berth just above and aft of the stove.

Crazy Dave- I'd love to hear from you since you know the boat best, sold me this boat, and originally sold and set up the boat, so you probably installed the radio!

2 more important questions:
1) what length of wire will he need?
2) (Dave might know this) Is there between 6-12 inches of extra wire that he could pull through, cut out the bad part at the deck, and not need a full length? If not, he'll use the old wire to "mouse" the new one.

Thanks!

the wire was run via a channel in the ceiling on stbd side and then down the side to the rear. You might be able to pull the wire just to get enough thru. One question for you. Did the wire come out thru the deck for attachemnent to the cable from the mast using a double ended female connector. emial me at davecondon@mindspring.com with a photo of enteriour on port side in galley area and just to the rear and deck.
