Hi,I am looking for a replacement deck vent for the cabin roof above the toilet, I don't know the type or make if anyone could point me in the right direction and as far as im aware it would look to be the original one. Also the sea toilet pump is a bit leaky when in use is there such a thing as a seal/service kit for it and again I believe it to be the original one. Any help would be grateful.regardsScottVega 891 Mistral

Scott:
I replaced what I think was the original vent with a Nicro (sp?) solar vent and two years later the fan is still running every time I look. Yes, it can be heard, but the volume is quite low. I can't remember which model I have and won't be home to check for a couple of weeks.

Scott,A toilet re-build kit may be worth almost as much as a new toilet. I went through a couple of the less expensive Jabsco's (a.k.a. Brydon) to make that discovery. On the new boat I paid a little more and bought a Raritan PHC.After extensive research on the web this presented itself as a good compromise between price and quality. I love it ... and my wife loves it! It's a great piece of kit and the parts are affordable.Petermostlyaboutboats.ca

Hi Scott,The Beckson C-6 is an exact replacement for Albin boats. I don't know where you are, but in the USA most marine stores sell them.Petermostlyaboutboats.ca

I'f I remember correctly, the original head was a "Brydon Boy", possibly
the same as Jabsco at the time. Jabsco heads (ITT Jabsco) have gone thru
several morphs since; before buying a rebuild kit a careful check would be
necessary. What frequently fails is the flapper valves in the pump unit as
well as the duckbill valve. re the vent: try checking: beckson vent-o-
mate ventilator.

Rebuild kit runs around $70.00 US. If the leak is coming from around the shaft of the pump handle you might be able to stop it by turning the nut that the pump shaft runs through. It's like a packing gland and you also might try some flax packing under the nut. I have seen a badly corroded shaft that needed to be replaced cause a leak. It was a special order and I don't know if they are still available. Probably the biggest problem you will run into is encrustation inside the discharge hoses which are not part of any kits. They can get very clogged up. When you are trying to push anything through the narrow hose back pressure is going increase the probability of leaking.
