What you are looking at is in the bow, starboard side of a 1973 Catalina 22'. I have 2 questions. 1. What does the stain markings mean every 3 inches or so. 2. The crack on the same side is that normal or is that the hull and deck separating?

What you are looking at is in the bow, starboard side of a 1973 Catalina 22'. I have 2 questions. 1. What does the stain markings mean every 3 inches or so. 2. The crack on the same side is that normal or is that the hull and deck separating?
Does any one know if this is an issue or if its just normal. I would like to figure out what the spots mean as well.
Not sure how the older Catalina models were put together, the late 70’s and 80’s the top and bottom hulls are bolted together. Some of the other boat mfg glued the hulls together and then stapled them till the glue set.
A friend just redid a Starwind 19 in which it was glued and stapled because the foredeck was lifting from the hull like shown. I did not see marks like that on the inside but, these look like deteriorating staples rather than bolts.
