Deck Rot, Chainplate Problems, Need to Get Access

recently bought an O'day 27. I had to remove the mid-ship chainplates as the bulkhead was rotted in that area. That is completed and the midship chainplates are quite secure other than balsa rot at the deck level which I will address. My problem is this: The fore and aft chainplates are difficult to access and need to know how to get at them. There are "access ports" below but they are glassed in or very solidly attached such that it seems as though they have never been removed. Should they be? Good ideas on how to do this? Is there another way? Any tips on reinforcing Oday 27 chainplates? Your help is greatly appreciated. The picture is of the newly reinforced midship chainplates, but need you help on the other 4.
