Thanks, Bruce, great forum. I'm a big fan of the West System system, and have gotten great results so far in my fledging attempts. I have an S2 9.1 I bought recently with a typical problem: The deck area under the partners has lifted up and cracked port forward. It'll be this winter's project. I know there's moisture in there, and I'm probably looking at cutting out (from the top) a square about 2x2 feet wide. There are some good guidelines in a WS manual I have, but I want to build this area back up as strong as possible. What sort of materials would you recommend for this high-stress area? Thanks in advance.

Structural repairs at the partners

I had to make pretty much the same repair to my own boat and wrote a 2 part article in Epoxyworks magazine. You can read them online at <www.westsystem.com> click on the 'Epoxyworks Magazine' tab, then on 'back issues'. The structural repairs are in issue #19 and the finishing and application of new non-skid are in issue #20. Take a look at the articles and see if they apply to what you're wanting to do - I think they will. If not, let me know.
