Deck Protection

Can anyone recommend products for care and protection of the fiberglass deck? Of course, there are both non skid and standard surfaces. I assume that wax type products will make the surface too slippery but I would like to do something to protect it from additional sunlight exposure and oxidation. The boat's an '85 with a fair amount of oxidation but the deck is sound and solid.

I cleaned with

Aurora cleaner, then applied their non skid protector, it seemed to hold up all season, with no chalkiness. Island girl products also have a product and cleaner, see the fiberglass forum for info! Good luck.

Island Girl has it all.

Mike: Try one of the Island Girl kits that is sold in this site. They have products for the smooth gelcoat and the non-skid. Unlike some of the other products on the market, the IG products actually repair the properties of the gelcoat.

deck cleaning

After using an entire bottle of deck cleaner on a small portion of my boat a fellow cruiser told me to use 50/50 vinegar and peroxide to clean a years worth of crud from my deck.It worked great. on lawn furniture too. I then used Rule restorer to the smooth parts. It comes off easier than anything else Ive tried. It lasts about a month or two.
