i learned to sail on a boat with a wood hull. the deck was sealed with canvas over a bedding compound that was impregnated with paint. the sail were made of Egyptian cotton. painted the entire hull and deck every year. the dust from the antifowling paint could kill you. the stays ends were loops that were hand spliced. the trailer had wood spokes.

you car guys had it easy. stick shift, 'piece of cake'

Oh Kappy. That opened the memory vault. The first luggable. 5” screen (measured on the diagonal). Basic, SuperCalc, WordStar, CP/M running in 64K memory. We were computer kings. :laugh:
