deck organizer

has any one replaced the deck organizer on an 1981 hunter 30 and if so did you have to cut a hole in the headliner to bolt it back in.

Unscrew one of the bolts

Stephen:If you unscrew one of the bolts that hold the organizer to the deck you will probably be able to see that it is screwed into a piece of aluminum under the gelcoat.If you get another organizer of the same mfg, you may be able to use the existing threads. If not you just need the correct bit and tap combination and drill whatever holes that you may need.Some of the areas where there is smooth gelcoat and no non-skid have backing plates for just this purpose.

Not bolted.

I think if you take one out as Steve suggests you will find it to be screwed, not bolted. That was true at least on my H37C when I removed the turning block and deck organizer for the mainsheet.

I am going to use the same organizer and replace the sheaves thanks for the info just wanted to check before i started taking things off
