My Hunter 1991 30T came from the factory with a tripple deck organiser on the starboard side (under the "sea hood" and just a single on the port side. I need to get rid of the single organiser and replace it with a tripple deck organiser, but... (as usual, there is always a a BUT), there is no acces from the inside because of the liner, and the deck organiser needs to be through bolted or tapped and screwed into the backing plate. here is the question: is there an aluminum backing plate inbeded in the deck ? or do I have to cut out a piece of the liner inside and than throughbolt the deck organiser? Anyone done that? If there is a backing plate, how far does it extend - I would like to place the organicer just at the opening of the sea hood and avoid removing it? Any jelp will be greatly appreciated , I tried to search the archives already... Andre

Backing Plate

Several years ago when considering installing an organizer which I never installed, I had correspondence with a 30T owner who had installed an organizer on the port side. He said there was a factory installed backing plate under the flat area designed for an organizer and that he had tapped a hole into the metal for a screw anchor. Don't know the size of the plate but I am sure Hunter could tell you everything you need to know.

Rain Cheque Is Still Good

Andre - Last September I tried unsuccessfully to email you but I have a bad address for you. I have something to send that may be of interest as you recondition SCHATZI. Please contact me through the Owner Directory. And yes, I am still waiting for you to come to San Diego for that promised boat visit and sail.
