I have an 84 Hunter 34 and have a leak which shows up inside over the forward sink. I've rebidded the water intake and tried to re-caulk all the ports but still have an issue. Any suggestions?

Welcome aboard, Mike! You'll find a lot of great info on the H-34, and folks here on this site!
Have ya changed the gasket on the portlight; the little gasket that the movable "glass" seals against when the port is closed and dogged? You can try some silicone grease rubbed into the rubber gasket.. may stop the leak temporarily.. long enough to get some new rubber and change it out. This site has a good price on the rubber stock.

H-34 water Leak

Rare to have a leak on a stanchion on a 34 because they are outboard of the deck, mounted on the outward looking rub rail.. Attached picture..another reason I like the 34 (and 31's) Can ya see where the water is moving from, Mike? is it behind the mirrored cabinet or falling into the sink? or on forward side of the bulkhead? Water tank thru hull vent and or hose is right by there too..

I had some water draining through the openings there. Stopped it by cleaning the edge and gasket on both the port and the overhead vent.

Mine are mounted inside the rail on my H34.... So that could be a possibility -Jon

Edit: Added a better picture.

Interesting, I had not seen that version of bracket on a 34. Also in the picture the screws look loose. Initially I would agree with Splax, but your brackets might be an issue.

Mine isn't the one with the leak. It's an 86 model. I'll check to see if there loose. Thanks Mark!

PGIJON.. Cool.. I have never seen a 34 with those brackets on the stanchions !
definitely looks like a place for beveled deck holes and "Bed It" Butyl tape.. Not sure that those countersunk headed screws are correct for the application, but hey, if they are working ....

Kloudie butyl & bevel was exactly what I was thinking, but that's another project to add to the list.

I've found that the best way to find leaks is to use a dark colored tissue paper and shove them all over the place. Then narrow it down as the tissue is wet. It's very easy to see a darker colored tissue paper when it is wet.... or use those blue shop paper towels.
