I have been using a spinniker on my 380 by attaching a snach block to a cleat on the side of the cockpit and running the line to the jib winch. This works ok but I was wondering what the correct hardware/positioning is. There is a small flat spot that appears to take a u bolt or eye bolt. Do people add another winch? Thanks Tom

you want an outboard fairlead led as far aft as possible. There is a U welded to forward pushpit rail near the arch, which is a perfect spot to put the snatch block. ONLY USE A HEAVY-DUTY SNATCH BLOCK, BECAUSE SNATCH BLOCKS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO HANDLE SUCH A TIGHT ANGLE. If you didn't spend a couple hundred bucks for the block, it's something you want to be wary of using in a blow. Yes, on my 410 I've installed a set of spinnaker winches on the coaming, and consider them essential because they permit me to trim the chute from the helm station, an important safety feature when sailing shorthanded. I have a buddy who leads his spinn sheets forward to the primary winches, however, and gets by.
