I am looking for replacements for both deck hatches for my 1980 H27. Does anyone know a source? Thanks,

The forward trapeziodal hatch is replaced by the Bomar 2092 from Pompanette. They took good care of me in me project. Check the archives, there are a number of good description and threads of different approaches. David Lady Lillie

Hatch work on the 27

Burt David is correct on that 2092-10A number for the front hatch. The number for the middle smaller hatch is 1029-10A (aluminum). And he is also correct that all this information is in the archives. You can find those hatches in various places on-line and in catalogs (SailNet, West Marine will order them, etc.). Two quick things before you go to the archives: I was not able to locate the large front hatch in plastic, only aluminum, but there was some contention amongst the others about that - I may have been mislead when I was told that Bomar doesn't make the plastic one anymore. But that 2092 number is for the aluminum frame. Just FYI, the aluminum frames look great on our boat. We weren't sure they would, but they do. And both of the replacments required cutting the deck a little bit. I recommend a jig saw and patience: the grinder/sander was a huge mess and wasn't as accurate in my opinion. Just be prepared to enlarge both holes prior to installing the new hatches. I patched the exposed deck core with Marine-Tex and let that dry before putting down the new hatches (This is a two-day job minimum). And make sure you do the caulking technique where you line it up, caulk it, then screw it down very lightly. Then come back the next day after the caulk is firmed up and screw it down completely. We didn't do that on the front hatch and it leaks a tiny bit. We will need to rebed it. Good luck, Ron Vanderveer and Tom Hrkach "Dolphin Dancer"
