Looking for a little advice on how to set up my Cat 22 Main and Jib Halyard so that I can raise and strike from the cockpit. Have the mast step deck plate and the block recommended by Catalina. But where do you turn to come aft, on the PopTop or down the cabin roof next to it? And how do you winch it tight? Move the mast winch aft? I'm stumpred.

Buy that book! It is really one of the best sources of information for sailors new and old ever put into print. There was a copy left on a Catalina 22 I bought nearly 30 years ago, and I found it a wealth of information that you can reference again and again. I bought a couple of copies since, but I honestly don't know if it is in print or not. You can no doubt get one on Amazon. Yeah, some of the boats and equipment are dated, but the basics never change. Seriously, find a copy!

ALL LINES LEAD AFT

Thanks a million for the link to your book. Any way to get a copy of the whole thing? I have a million questions, and it looks like you've been there, done that and writ the book on it! My next chanllenge is a topping lift, and I see it in the table of contents but can't open it.
Thanks again!

Deck organizers

As suggested, the ilines come off the mast at the base and run through blocks. Then generally out to the forward edge of the cabin top where there are two sheave deck organizers. I use one line for the main halyard and another for the main jiffy reefing line. This deck organizer is good for bringing the lines back across the cabin top and outboard of the pop top. They go back to some form of a cleat at the rear of the cabin top. Cam cleats are a good investment. I will try to include a photo of another person's arrangement.
