Deck Discolouration

I purchased a Bavaria 38 in December 2004.The boat was brand new and delivered by the licenced importer. Within 2 months the deck appears to have started discolouring it has turned yellow and brown and the anti skid is breaking down. Has anyone else experienced a similiar problem and what was the result.

Warranty

Since it is a new boat, it should be under warranty. Contact the dealer you purchased the boat from. Sounds like the chemicals were not mixed and/or applied correctly. This MAY be a major problem. If epoxy, it has not reacted properly and must be redone. If all else fails, contact your lawyer.

Use your warranty

I agree with Don. We had a similar thing happen on our new Hunter. The guys from the factory came and sanded off the deck and reapplied all new anti-skid and gel-coat. Can't even tell they did it! They said that sometimes material gets into the resin or the chemicals were not properly mixed. Make sure the dealer knows and contact Bavaria. Check your warranty. Wouldn't jump the legal route until you have gone thru all your other avenues. Good Luck.
