After being "on the hard" for five weeks, everything looked okay on my deck. After getting back to homeport, noticed that after a night's dew, deck is almost completely stained with red, blue and green. I have scrubbed it twice until clean and white again. However, the discoloration shows up again in the mornings after a heavy dew. Could this somehow be related to people grinding their bottom paint off when my boat was in the yard. Could this be copper? What can I do to get rid of it? Help!!! By the way, after using compound, still had the problem.

Try this stuff

I had an extremely stubborn rust stain on my deck. No cleanser, comet, bon ami, bar keepers friend, or lime away worked. Tried EZ Off spray oven cleaner, original formula with lye. That did the trick. It is cheap too and available in the cleaning aisle of your super market.

stain

Had the same stain after some yard time. It was from bottom paint sanding dust. Very scarey! Ammonia took it right off.

Island Girl

Really, I know I have plugged Island girl alot lately. After a few years of reading about the products I recently had a phone conversation with Dr. Willis, I purchased a the whole deal. The stuff is pretty neat. The basic products have so many uses.... He could have packaged his products in a number of ways. Vinyl cleaner and restorer, Fiberglass restorer, bilge cleaner, caulking remover, shore power cord cleaner and restorer, Runway fallout clenser, Boat yard dirt clenser etc. He has chosen at the time to stick with Island Girl Products. I think these are some pretty high quality products (at this time at bargain prices) that can not only benift the boating industry but many other industries. r.w.landau
